Getting married is one of the few times in your life when you are permitted to be the center of attention for an entire day. So what happens when someone hijacks your wedding and makes it all about them? That’s the question that an anonymous reader of Slate had for Dear Prudence. 

Proposing at weddings is not unheard of, but when people do it, they normally ask for permission first from the bride and groom. Not only did John skip that step, he also consistently found new ways to make someone else’s special day all about him.
